You might not have a lifetime boating experience, but whatever skills you offer, we'd love to welcome you aboard

Are you interested in heritage, history or London's waterways? Or looking to learn more?

Would you like the opportunity to meet new people, keep active, and share your enthusiasm for the history and waterways of London with thousands of visitors a year?

Would you like to develop your skills in customer service, team work, communication and other key workplace skills?

Or perhaps you'd like experience of working in the tourism or heritage sectors, engaging with visitors and exhibitions?

You'll be able to gain all of this and more by volunteering at London Canal Museum. London Canal Museum is dedicated to promoting public awareness and knowledge of London Waterways. Our museum is an independent museum and completely run by volunteers.

Our Front of House volunteers welcome visitors, look after the museum building and bring the stories of London's canals and the people who worked on them alive to make visiting the museum a memorable experience for all ages.

If you are outgoing, proactive and reliable and can spare two regular or adhoc days (9.45am-4.45pm) each month for at least 6 months, we would love to hear from you. We are open Tuesday to Sunday.

We provide lunch and travel expenses, as well as volunteer socials, discounted entry to the museum and its events, and training and induction.

Our museum is accessible to individuals who have limited mobility and we are very happy to make all reasonable adjustments to ensure that someone can volunteer with us. We enthusiastically welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
