The MD Anderson YMCA Summer Day Camp program is seeking volunteers to help with a fresh produce initiative at the Y. We have partnered with the Houston Food Bank and the Brighter Bites program to help alleviate the food desert burden. Volunteers will help sort and bag around 3,000 pounds of produce to be distributed to children in the summer day camp program. We are asking for volunteers once a week, day to be determined, from 10:30 am - 11:30 am . Brighter Bites is an eight-week program that is offered three times a year at our YMCA. While we appreciate consistency, volunteers can choose how many weeks they want to help. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Questions? To sign up for this volunteer opportunity, please contact Marie Arcos , mariea@ymcahouston.org or 713-697-0648
