Heaven on Earth Society for Animals is looking for some awesome volunteers to help with outreach for our SpayShip Transport Program!
As a SpayShip volunteer, you provide support to a program that has facilitated the spay or neuter of more than 6,000 cats and kittens since it began in 2009. SpayShip volunteers meet on Saturdays for community outreach aimed at spreading the word about this free transport service, focusing particularly on neighborhood canvassing in targeted areas of the San Fernando Valley. They also help periodically with tabling events, passing out flyers and talking with the public about the SpayShip program in particular and the importance of spaying and neutering in general. We ask for a volunteer commitment of twice a month for at least two hours. More information about SpayShip can be found at https://www.heavenlypets.org/spayship/.
Canvassing is done in pairs. You will never be asked to canvas alone.
Our goal is to reach out to as many people as possible and get as many cats spayed or neutered as we possibly can to help make Los Angeles a No Kill city!
SpayShip is a free to the public program.
Age Requirement: 16 years or older.

Mission Statement
Heaven on Earth, founded in 2000, envisions the day when there are no more homeless pets in the Los Angeles area. Our programs and events are aimed to rescue cats most at risk for euthanasia and to raise awareness in Los Angeles and beyond.
Description
We fulfill our mission by:
- The Perry MacFarlane Sanctuary, our Cage-free, No-kill Facility. Cats who are with us temporarily awaiting adoption as well as longer-term residents receive quality care and lots of love at our North Hollywood sanctuary, known affectionately as Perry’s Place.
- Adoption Program. Mobile adoption events are held each weekend at several area pet stores, and we host adoption visits at Perry’s Place as well.
- SpayShip Transport Service. Working in conjunction with local spay/neuter clinics, SpayShip provides free transportation and trapping assistance for community and companion cats in targeted San Fernando Valley zip codes.
- Community Outreach. Referral, guidance, support and humane education are central to everything we do, and while we cannot rescue every cat in need, we do respond to each inquiry we receive from people seeking to help them.
