ORGANIZATION: EMO- HIV Services

The HIV Day Center is a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon’s (EMO). We are a community of staff, clients, and volunteers that strive to address basic needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS in a manner consistent with the values of respect, compassion and safety.

Provide holistic care that supports the needs of HIV positive clients. We are seeking a wide variety of licensed volunteers who practice massage, acupuncture, reiki, and yoga.

Hours: The Day Center is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm. This volunteer position has a lot of flexibility within our open hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing holistic care that promotes heath for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Socializing with clients in the Day Center.

Assisting in maintaining a clean and organized Day Center space.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Interest and excitement in supporting the heath of people living with HIV/AIDS. Comfort in talking with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Enjoyment of building community relationships, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability, organization. Must be a licensed practitioner and carry your own insurance. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and pass a background check.

Description

The HIV Services program operates a Day Center which offers a place of care, respect, and support for people infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. The Center provides nutritious meals on-site daily, as well as counseling and a variety of critical support services. HIV Services also provides high quality home-delivered meals to homebound clients through our Daily Bread Express (DBX) program.
