This volunteer opportunity is designed to help vulnerable, homebound seniors who may be at risk of living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions due to a variety of factors. This important volunteer service will help Calhoun County seniors to live independently and in a safer environment.
Ideal volunteers would be willing to provide a variety of services including fix-up tasks and occasional heavy cleaning to homebound seniors to improve their ability to live in a safe and sanitary home. Volunteers will work in team of at least two people. This opportunity takes place in Calhoun County. Shifts are between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and are available Monday through Thursday with a flexible schedule. This is an ideal opportunity for older adults and adults with knowledge of general home repairs.

Description
Milestone Senior Services (formerly Senior Services of Southwest Michigan) offers a full selection of programs and service developed with today's older adult in mind. over 20 programs that assist people to support their independence and help them stay living at home. Services include Meals on Wheels, Home Repair, Care Navigator, Information and Assistance, Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program, MI Choice Waiver, Food for All, Friendship Center Meal Sites, and Behavioral Health and Wellness. We host RSVP - Your Invitation to Volunteer, and the Senior Companion national service programs to connect older adults to volunteering and to support them in their service. Our Generations Catering offers casual to sophisticated dining with a purpose, as all profits support our Meals on Wheels and Friendship Center Meal Sites.
