Be paired with a student to build a one-on-one mentoring relationship in which you can provide him or her with tools to be a successful student through weekly meetings and regular check-ins with their Breakthrough Advisor. As an Academic Mentor, volunteers will support the struggling students through goal setting, subject tutoring, re-focusing, time management, organization, follow-through and motivation where appropriate. This is a great opportunity to develop a long-term mentorship relationship with one student.
