The YMCA Mentoring Program seeks adult male volunteers throughout Montgomery County, Maryland, to be positive role models for at-risk boys between the ages of 6 -16, primarily referred by Child Welfare Services. With just 4-8 hours per month, you can change the odds and make a difference in the life of a boy who is affected by the challenges of foster care or other family disruption. Volunteers meet with their mentees on a regular basis and engage in activities throughout the community that foster social, educational, and emotional growth. For more information, or to sign up for an orientation session, please call Laura Brown at 301-576-9068 or email .
