Sea Save Foundation has worked with the Conference of the Parties International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES) for a decade. At CITIES, 178 nations were represented and this group systematically reviewed lengthy proposals and decided which animals would be protected under international trade regulations.
We also are official attendees at the United Nations Ocean Conference (SDG #14) This event occurs once every three years and is critical for international coordination of agreements that protect oceans. After all. as our director has stated, "Oceans do not recognize political boundaries. We must work to coordinate the international community lobbying policy that will protect marine ecosystems."
We are looking for a project manager interested in overseeing our participation in these important meetings. To create a timeline to make sure all steps and papers are completed before each event. Mission Statement
Sea Save Foundation stands witness to the health of the oceans and the threats they face, we document problems and develop solutions, arm people with knowledge, and tools so they can make a difference. With the public as our ally, we go to the United Nations and other global bodies to effect international change. We attend these meetings so we can offer creative, economically viable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly plans to decision-makers. We also make sure everyone is doing their best to meet their targets.
Description
Sea Save Foundation approaches conservation from two fronts:
- We develop and promote inspiring educational campaigns that showcase the beauty of ocean flora and fauna and underscore the current challenges facing our marine ecosystems.
- We couple serious environmental issues with concrete advocacy campaigns undertaken by our supporters and partners. With these programs, we hope to raise awareness about the importance of ocean conservation and create sustainable, healthy ecosystems for generations to come. It’s your ocean. Do something about it!
