If you have been reading the news lately you know that veterans of all our armed services need help and support from their community. You can make Veteran's Day more than just a long weekend by driving this elder vet to a monthly support meeting. Starting in Danbury and driving to West Haven just one visit per month so he can attend a meeting would be a great way to give back to this gent.
Requirements to be a great volunteer include:
- a desire to help others;
- a pleasant demeanor;
- organizational or planning abilities;
- a good driving record;
- a clear criminal history;
- two references
- access to a car with proof of insurance;
- a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage.
