ORGANIZATION: Hudson Valley Hospice

As part of the Hospice care team, Patient Care Volunteers offer comfort, support and companionship to patients and their families.

Respite Care...visiting with a patient to give the caregiver a break

Listening...providing emotional support to both patient and their family caregivers

Transportation...Drive a patient to a medical appointment or just to get out

Errands...picking up groceries or other items

Special Needs...Veteran support, special skills such as a language, hobbies, hairstyling, energy therapy or pet therapy

Our volunteer Patient Care training is 20 hours .The sessions will begin in October.
