Family Service Volunteers partner with Habitat to support familes through the application process. These volunteers interview potential families and document contact with them, encourage familes to complete their sweat equity hours and complete downpayments, and offer support through the homeownership process.

Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian organization and welcomes volunteers from all faiths who are committed to Habitat's goal of eliminating poverty housing. Homes are sold with no profit made. Homeowners contribute "Sweat Equity" and house payments are recycled to build additional homes.

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity serves families in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

Description

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity has been serving Escambia and Santa Rosa counties for over 30 years. Habitat for Humanity builds homes and sells them at cost with a no-interest mortgage to qualified low and very income families. Each family is required to contribute 200 hours of sweat equity towards the home purchase and attend educational classes on variety of topics including budgeting and home maintenance. The organization has built more than 680 homes and has served more than 2,500 children and adults in the community.
