Guest House Meal Maker -Dinners for medical guests & veterans

Groups are needed to make or cater a warm meal for our guests at Guest House. Some medical or veteran guests may join us for conversation and dinner in our Community Room, others will choose the pick-up option. Those staying with us often spend long days in the hospital with their loved one or have outpatient treatments. A dinner they don't have to make themselves feeds their stomachs as well as their weary souls. We have a kitchen stocked with cooking utensils, stove and a double oven. Volunteers need to arrive by 3:30 - 4:00pm if making the dinner onsite, and no later than 4:30pm with the catered meal. To-Go dinner bags are assembled by 5:00pm for pick-up between 5:30 - 6:00pm to guests. Sit-down dinner is at 6:00pm. After cleanup, you'll be finished by 7:30p. We have dinners for our guests regularly scheduled on *Thursday nights at Guest House and typically we need 45 - 50 meals.

Menu suggestions for meals: Soup & Salad Nite, Beef Stew & Biscuits, Enchiladas, Mac & Cheese with Rotisserie Chicken - think Comfort Food. We're open to your menu ideas. It's a great opportunity to get your team together doing good. Please contact us if you're interested in sponsoring a meal and we will send you our Meal Maker Guidelines.

Currently, we have Thursdays available from April through the end of the year! We are also wanting to start a regular Taco or Lasagna Tuesday, on the first Tuesday of the month. Bring your favorite taco dinner to our guests, they'd love it. We ask that all volunteers be healthy the day of your meal project, to protect our immune-compromised guests. We may ask you to wear a mask during meal prep and pick-up.
