Love books? Envision a room filled with every type of book you can imagine (and some you couldn't even conceive of exisiting). This scene comes to life in the Friends book sorting room.
The Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries need volunteers to sort specific categories of book and media donations. The sorting room is located in the upstairs of the Downtown Library.
Volunteers are needed to evaluate, price, and pack books in these categories:
Health
Science, Nature, & Math
SciFi
Sports
Technology
Text Books
Travel
Vintage books (requires computer skills)
A volunteer is also needed to sort and pack music CDs.
At least one trianing will take place. Book sorters need to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours week. Their schedule can be flexible, but must be during library hours.

The Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries (FSCPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Santa Cruz Public Libraries. We believe that our libraries are now more important than ever.
We work to advocate for our libraries and support our libraries’ children’s literacy programs, book & media purchases, concerts, author talks, community reading programs, technical & facilities upgrades and more.
