Middle school youth are in need caring and responsible adults, age 55+, to inspire and enable them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
Volunteers will expose youth to educational opportunities and, provide resources and guidance to reach the goals set as a part of their individualized career plan. Volunteer shares career clusters with youth through various forms and activities to foster greater awareness of the careers available.
Youth will be matched with a volunteer for at least one year. They will meet once a week for about an hour during the youth's study hall or after school at the Boys & Girls Club.
Volunteer must fill out an application, pass background and reference check, and meet with the Great Futures Mentoring Coordinator for an interview. Volunteer will also be required to attend an orientation before serving.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, pre-service orientation, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
We'll work with your schedule.
