Reach and Rise is a free national YMCA program designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. The one-on-one mentoring program has been in effect since 1992, and the group mentoring began in 2016.
One-on-One mentoring supports youth 6 to 17 by matching mentees with caring and supportive adults trained in therapeuting mentoring methods. Matches meet one to three hours a week for a year.
The Group mentoring serves youth 8 to 15 in a group setting with 6 youth and two adults, meeting two hours a week for 16 weeks (or for 8 weeks during our summer program). Volunteers provide group based mentoring services while creating safe, healthy and meaninful relationships with youth.
