We are an active non profit in the greater Danbury area with a variety of ongoing activities and more than 500 volunteers. We build affordable homes ... make repairs for the elderly, handicapped, and poor ... run special events from fashion shows to lobsterfests ... and have a ReStore, a thrift-type home improvement warehouse. Tell our story in photos. Build our future through your images! What have you built today!

About Housatonic Habitat for Humanity
Location:
51 Austin Street, Danbury, CT 06810, US
Mission Statement
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. Households often consist of those who have limited assets and who have jobs that also have income caps.
Description
The Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, based in Danbury, CT supports central and northern Fairfield and Litchfield County Connecticut. Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate homelessness and poverty by creating affordable housing for those in need.
Some of the tasks volunteers can participate in are home building, ReStore Store support, fundraising, event management, community relations, marketing and communications, web site development, homesite planning, bookkeeping and office support.
The ReStore is a home improvement center where new and used appliances, furniture and home improvement materials are taken in and then resold to the public for much less than the market value.
Please contact volunteer@housatonichabitat.org or call 203-744-1340 if you would like to volunteer. You may also visit the website at www.housatonichabitat.org
