Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is looking for community leaders to lend their expertise as we re-build our local affiliate to build affordable homes for working families and develop a repair program for seniors, handicapped, and other low-income groups, and move our ReStore, a thrift-type home improvement warehouse, to its next level. Go beyond the hammer to help us build for tomorrow! Committee needs include: volunteerrecruitment, fundraising, special events planning, social media marketing, communications, and ReStore sales.

Households often consist of those who have limited assets and who have jobs that also have income caps.
Description
The Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, based in Danbury, CT supports central and northern Fairfield and Litchfield County Connecticut. Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate homelessness and poverty by creating affordable housing for those in need.
Some of the tasks volunteers can participate in are home building, ReStore Store support, fundraising, event management, community relations, marketing and communications, web site development, homesite planning, bookkeeping and office support.
The ReStore is a home improvement center where new and used appliances, furniture and home improvement materials are taken in and then resold to the public for much less than the market value.
