Thrive DC

Every Thursday from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Thrive DC provides grocery to residents in the Columbia Heights community experiencing food insecurity. We are looking for dedicated supporters to help our staff with outreach, food distribution, and clean-up afterwards. This opportunity is ideal for individuals and groups of 10

*** Those fluent in French, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Amharic are highly encouraged to apply.***

Thrive DC works to prevent and end homelessness by providing vulnerable individuals with a comprehensive range of services to help stabilize their lives. Thrive DC envisions a city in which the community unites to ensure that vulnerable individuals have the necessary support and resources to lead fulfilling and stable lives free of homelessness.

Description

Thrive DC is an independent 5013 nonprofit organization, who has been serving the DC community since 1979. Thrive DC offers breakfast and dinner to more than 250 homeless and poor men, women, and children each day. Thrive DC also gives immediate crisis assistance, acts as an outreach site for partner agencies, and provides information, referral, and emergency social services. Thrive DC also provides intensive employment training designed to help individuals transition out of homelessness and develop the skills needed to live independently.
