We are currently in high need of Lewis County area drivers who can drive clients in and outside of county to their essential medical appointments. Volunteer drivers use their own vehicle and are covered by Catholic Community Services' Extended Accident/Liability/Auto insurance, as well can choose to receive mileage reimbursement. VS works with low-income seniors and adults with disabilities who are independently living and do not have access to transportation and may no longer drive. Drive locally or drive as far as Seattle - it is up to you! Make a difference in someone's life today and become a Volunteer Driving Hero!

About Catholic Community Services' Volunteer Services

Location:

3545 7th ave SW, STE t-004, Olympia, WA 98502, US

Mission Statement

We believe every child should grow up in a safe, loving and nurturing environment We believe the elderly should be able to live with security and dignity. We believe healthy family life should be affirmed and supported in our communities We believe in compassion, love and respect for all people, especially the poor and most vulnerable. We believe in joining with others to change systems that oppress, discriminate or otherwise cause human suffering. We believe employees and volunteers should work in an environment that fosters respect, teamwork and excellence. We believe in all of these things for all people, whatever their color, whatever language they speak or however they worship.

Description

Our program exists as a safety net for low-income elders and people with disabilities (also low-income)by providing them with services that allow them to remain living as independently as possible in their own homes (not assisted living). For example, a 89 year old woman who only collects $600/mo. in Social Security needs help with her lawn. She can't afford to pay someone, and if her lawn goes a couple of months without being mowed, now the lawn is a fire hazard.
