Peer Leaders are needed to facilitate health workshops for adults with chronic conditions (such as arthritis, heart disease, cancer, hypertension, stroke, diabetes etc). Leaders receive extensive training which enables them to conduct these interactive and engaging workshop sessions. These workshops meet once a week for a 6-week cycle and there are two Leaders assigned to each workshop, so you are always with another person. A medical background is not needed, in fact the best Peer Leaders are adults who also have a chronic condition and are motivated to learn how to manage their condition so they can have the life they want, and then to share these techniques with others.
