Providing or preparing a home-cooked meal for Hope’s Harbor guests can be a rewarding way to support our families.

Gather your family and friends, co-workers and committee members, team and troop, club and church group to come to Hope’s Harbor to share in our mission. Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your community and have fun!

Meals can be prepared in our beautiful gourmet kitchen, provided by a catered restaurant or prepackaged from a grocery store. It is required that all food be prepared in a commercial kitchen.

Meals at our Lutheran Campus House should be for 12-15 people. Meals at our Dupont Campus House should be for 8-10 people.

About Hope's Harbor

Location:

7922 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46804, US

Mission Statement

Hope’s Harbor is a nonprofit family hospitality home. Our services are available to families with a hospitalized child in any Fort Wayne medical facility. Our mission is to offer hospitality services to parents and families of children receiving medical care away from home. We provide a place of comfort, hope, emotional support and community. We serve families regardless of race, gender, religious or political affiliation. And we don’t turn anyone away due to an inability to pay.

Description

More than a close and convenient shelter, Hope's Harbor is a quiet respite for those trying to manage the serious illness of their child in a strange and foreign hospital environment. Hope's Harbor has homes on the campuses of Lutheran Hospital and Dupont Hospital. Hope’s Harbor Lutheran Campus House is a 10-bedroom home conveniently located on the Lutheran Hospital campus. The home offers families access to a full kitchen, dining room, fully stocked pantry, children’s playroom, library, exercise room, family room and multiple laundry rooms. In addition, community volunteers regularly come to the house to prepare home-cooked meals for our families. The family bedrooms feature two beds and a private bath. Two large family rooms are also available to families staying with us. The house also offers a large outdoor deck and community garden, with space to relax, recharge and spend time together as a family. This home is fully accessible.
Opened in 2019, Hope’s Harbor Dupont Campus House is a four-bedroom home conveniently located on the Dupont Hospital campus in the 2510 Medical Office Building. Our Dupont Campus House is exclusively open to families with NICU patients. It has private bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a seating area and laundry facilities. This home is fully accessible.
