The Long Beach Senior Squadron ("Squadron 150") of the California Wing, is comprised completely of adult members and meets at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training base every Thursday at 1930. (7:30 PM)

Squadron 150 performs Search and Rescue (SAR) missions, Search and Rescue training exercises (SAREXes), and disaster relief efforts on behalf of the United States Air force. Squadron 150 participates with other organizations such as the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA and Cal EMA (OES).

This unit is constantly training and preparing its members for the skills necessary to provide emergency services to the public in a time of need. While the central focal point of our effort is training and preparation of aircrew for the California Wing fleet, there are many roles available to non-flying members such as radio communications, logistics, planning, and mission staff participation.

Of course, while we welcome private pilots who wish to become CAP pilots , the aircrew positions of Mission Scanner and Mission Observer are also in demand and may be held by non-pilots.

In addition, we have other positions available (Public Affairs, Professional Development, Personnel, Logistics etc..)

Participation in the CAP and Squadron 150 effort is voluntary and includes efforts by members in three areas:

• Emergency Services Training
• Professional Development
• Specialty Track Training

Additionally, a new member can expect to be tasked with a staff assignment in one of the necessary unit administrative roles such as

• Personnel,
• Emergency Services,
• Safety,
• Logistics,
• Aerospace Education,
• Communications,
• Information Technology,
• Public Affairs,
• Recruiting and Retention, etc.

Learn Airborne Photogrphy! The Airborne Photographer serves as a member of a CAP flight crew and is tasked with taking airborne photographs and/or video of specified ground targets that completely meet or exceed the customer’s objectives and needs. The Airborne Photographer (AP) is tasked with taking airborne photographs and/or video of specified ground targets per the customers requested, and providing that output, formatted for delivery to the customer.

Learn New Skills!!! - Those interested in joining CAP and Squadron 150 should are expected to participate in an indoctrination and training period of approximately six months to one year before and should plan on participating in at least three meetings per month for that period until they have attained a level of competency commensurate with their squadron responsibilities and CAP career ambitions.

Veterans and disabled veterans are welcome to join.
