Title: SEED ELA Tutor
Purpose: The tutor would help SEED middle school students raise their reading scores.
Description of Duties:
Provide assistance with reading assignments
Help make the work relatable
Check in with students to assess their understanding of the information
Patience when working with children
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to manage stressful situations
Education background preferred
A background check
Time Requirements: Tutoring will available Monday- Thursday @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm and 6:35 pm - 7:35 pm. Tutors are required to commit two hours a week for two months minimum.
Orientation/Training: All tutors are required to take a two hour orientation and training session provided twice monthly. Orientation follows the interview, invitation, and background check.

Can be applied toward Service Learning Project Hours
An opportunity to work with the future leaders of the world
Upon completion, we will provide letters of recommendation
Evaluation Procedures: An entrance and exit survey will be given to all tutors to assess the volunteer program.
Reporting Procedures: It will be the responsibility of the tutor to sign in and out accurately. Upon request, tutors will be given an update of their hours.
