We Are Looking to Add some Volunteers to the team ASAP, just in time for Orientation. Please call the office. Start in August if you are a perfect match.

As a Patient Care Companion Volunteer with Nurses Plus Hospice, you would be providing emotional support, companionship, active listening, practical support and friendship to patients and their families who are facing life's end. Volunteers are the heart of enhancing the quality-of-life for hospice patients.

Volunteer assignments range from watching TV, art projects, photography, reading, scrapbooking, phone calls, listening to or playing music, local errands, light housekeeping, gardening, daily support including washing dishes, organization of personal items, preparing and serving meals and light laundry, even creating a lifebook for the patient to pass down to the family.

Patient Care Volunteers make a special, unique, individualized bond with their patient/family. You will walk away from each visit deeply pleased knowing you made a difference.

A recent TB test, Physical Examination (free from our Hospice Physician), orientation and training modules are required by Federal and State governement to get started - all of which will be provided by Nurses Plus Hospice at no cost to you.
