The Etowah County Animal Shelter can use some volunteer assistance in a couple of ways: as receptionists to greet visitors and answer the phone, or by fostering animals at your home (this gives the animal some much needed attention and also frees up some space at the shelter).
The Animal Shelter makes a huge impact in Etowah County through their ability to educate people about the need for spaying/neutering and why people should adopt a pet.
