Are you interested in local democracy, have expertise in business development, interest or knowledge in cooperative development, and great communication skills?
If this describes you, then consider becoming a Mentor for Green Worker Cooperative's (GWC), Co-op Academy!
GWC trains and develops worker cooperatives through our Co-op Academy that enables the transformation of the worker-owners and in turn, the community.
The Co-op Academy is an intensive training and support program that assists aspiring entrepreneurs to develop worker-owned green businesses with a unique focus on environmental sustainability. We utilize an aggressive combination of training, coaching, and technical services so that each team is able to get their business up and running by the completion of the course. So in essence, it's a business boot camp for cooperative start-ups in NYC.
As a mentor you will be a support system for one of these teams. You will also offer insight on their progress and make sure they are on track.
We are actively searching for mentors in various and specific fields. Our focus is to pair people who want to be mentors that have either worker-owned cooperative experience or a willingness to share their knowledge and expertise in a specific area or industry.
Note: This postion can be worked remotely.

Description
Green Worker Cooperatives is a South-Bronx based organization dedicated to incubating worker-owned green businesses in order to build a strong local economy rooted in democracy and environmental justice.
Our approach is a response to high unemployment and decades of environmental racism. We don't have the luxury to wait for new alternatives. That's why we're creating them. We believe that in order to address our environmental and economic problems we need new ways to earn a living that don't require polluting the earth or exploiting human labor.
