Please Note: The opportunity described below is through FiftyForward RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program.) For RSVP volunteer opportunities, you must be at least 55 years of age.
The Meals 2 Heal program involves teens working in the kitchen under the guidance of adult mentor chefs to prepare nourishing meals to be delivered weekly and without charge to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
The Client Liaison Volunteer works personally with a small number of meal receipients through weekly phone calls to: offer support; ensure the meals they are receiving are maximally supportive of their healing; and, communicate any needs to the Client Manager. The Client Liaison Volunteer will make one home visit to the patient followed by weekly phone calls at a pre-determined and mutally convenient time, generally during the daytime.
