Please Note: The opportunity described below is through FiftyForward RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program.) For RSVP volunteer opportunities, you must be at least 55 years of age.
Assistant Adult Mentor Chefs wear two hats. They are Assistant Chefs; they prepare nutrient rich entrees, soups and sidedishes under the direction of a Chef. They are Mentors; they work with teens in the kitchen, learning about nutrition, basic cooking skills, and teamwork. Both Assistant Adult Mentor Chefs and the teens make a huge difference in a cancer patient's life by providing healthy meal options during treatment.
Assistant Adult Mentor Chef volunteers must be age 55 plus and enthusiastic. Meals are prepared on Tuesdays in two shifts: 12:30 to 3:00 and 3:00 to 6:00. Volunteers work one shift per week.
