Help Start Something BIG through the power of mentoring! Being a mentor can help a child experience other possibilities which can result in setting higher goals, achieving higher levels of education, and being more successful in life.

Site-Based Mentoring : The child and the volunteer meet at a set date and time each week at the child's school or at the Boys & Girls Club (late afternoon or early evening) and participate in activities at that site (i.e. making crafts, playing a board game, playing catch, etc.).

Community-Based Mentoring : The child and the volunteer arrange their meetings based upon when it fits into their schedules and participate in activities in the community (i.e. going out to dinner, playing in the park, going for a walk, flying a kite, etc.).

Mission Statement

Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin serves 5 counties: Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pierce, & St. Croix. We offer 2 different mentoring programs - Community-Based & School/Site-Based.

We were established in 1972 as a Kinship organization and became a Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliated organization in 1995.

We know that mentoring impacts a child's life. In a 2008 study of the children in our program, many of our 'Littles' experienced one or more of the following benefits:
