The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure raises funds to support local grants that provide life-saving screening, treatment support, and breast health education to uninsured and underinsured women and men.

Description
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36.
Today, the Komen Foundation is a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research, meritorious awards, community-based outreach programs and its advancement of the life-saving message of early detection to millions of women and men. The Foundation is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
