ORGANIZATION: Support The Enlisted Project (STEP)

Make connections and meet new friends throughout Southern California's military community while helping to spread the word about the services offered by Support the Enlisted Project (STEP). Our service area extends throughout Southern California (including the counties of San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside and Imperial).

Selected candidates will field questions from individuals and/or provide informational briefs to myriad audiences, regarding the need for STEP and the services STEP provides to the active duty military and recently separated veteran communities.

Duties may include identifying and engaging new outreach opportunities and participation at fleet and field orientation briefs, regional military-related resource fairs and/or civilian organized events catering to active duty military and recently separated veteran communities.

The community outreach specialist will often be the first friendly face that people see with respect to the STEP organization.

STEP assists junior active duty enlisted members and recently discharged enlisted veterans and their families in Southern California facing financial crisis achieve long term financial self-sufficiency through counseling, educations and grants to alleviate critical near term obligations.

Description

Volunteers are implemented in every part of the nonprofit, and is vital to reach our mission of supporting these military families. We need consistent help with sorting donated items, as well as administrative and holiday program support.
