Our Chaplains have a combined 30+ years of hospice experience. Our commitment is to mentor a Spiritual Care Volunteer in the Tree of Life Volunteer Program in many ways such as:

Assessing the patient and/or caregiver’s spiritual status

Companioning a patient/caregiver’s spiritual journey as s/he defines it

Expanding the Spiritual Care Volunteer’s understanding of bereavement, dying and death

Advanced educational opportunities and training providing the Spiritual Care Volunteer with a choice of personal spiritual self-assessment tools

Companioning the Spiritual Care Volunteer in personal spiritual practices

Providing real world experience in the hospice setting through visiting and calling patients/caregivers, shadowing staff, attending Interdisciplinary Team meetings
