Note in the Pocket

The children and families we serve desperately need well-fitting clothing and shoes. Volunteers will process clothing donations to produce mini-wardrobes. They will sort clothing by gender, season, and school-appropriateness; fold and label clothing with size and gender.

As a non-profit serving children and families in the Triangle region of North Carolina, Note in the Pocket started with a simple mission: To Clothe Children in Dignity and Love. We believe that it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school. Our goal for 2022 is to clothe 8,500 in confidence! COVID-19 has caused an increase in the number of requests received, as many have lost jobs and income.

In 2021, Note received clothing requests for 6,500+ individuals, mostly children, throughout all twelve cities and towns in Wake County. NITP has served over 31,000 individuals since receiving our 501C3 status in 2013. Learn more about Note in the Pocket and the children we serve at https://noteinthepocket.org/.

Mission Statement

Note in the Pocket's Mission Statement: Note in the Pocket provides clothes to homeless and impoverished children and families. We believe it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development due to a lack of appropriate clothes.

Description

Note in the Pocket is a 501c3 organization providing clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families. To meet our goal to clothe 8,500 in 2022, we are now operating out of a much larger Volunteer Center! This will allow us to keep pace with our rapidly growing clothing donations (230,000+ pounds in 2021) and to allow us to expand the number of individuals and volunteer groups we can accommodate.
