Siena Literacy Center is seeking volunteers interested in serving as computer guides for new learners required to use our lab for a minimum of two hours per week.
- Teach learners to log-in and the how to use the mouse.
- Assist learners with their related lessons in reading, language arts, mathematics or English as a Second Language.
- Work with individual learners as needed.

Mission Statement
Siena Literacy Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of families in metropolitan Detroit by providing a basic adult education program and services with trained volunteers. We offer adult basic reading and math skills tutoring, basic computer skill classes, ESL (English as Second Language) tutoring, and study help with Citizenship interviews. Siena is also a certified provider of Northstar Digital Literacy. All of our services are FREE. Our learners are required to use the computer lab for a minimum of two hours weekly, two-hour weekly sessions with an assigned tutor, and one hour of homework/study time at home. Regular business hours are: Monday-Thursday from 10 am - 8 pm.

Since 1995, over 1,000 tutors have helped over 2,000 adult learners. Siena Literacy Center is looking for caring, patient, and flexible volunteer tutors.
- Volunteer tutors are needed to teach reading, mathematics, and English as a Second Language.
- Textbooks, Materials, training, and supplies are provided.
Learners in our programs are required to dedicate 5 hours weekly to their education, including 2 hours of tutoring time, 2 hours of the computer lab, and 1 hour of homework/study time.
