The Intern NVT programme offers interns a rewarding way to gain experience in the conservation fields and get an idea of how the world of a conservation NPO operates. While you spend your days in and around one of the most beautiful places along South Africa’s coastline, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an organisation that is loved and respected by the community. Become part of our dynamic team and work across our main programmes - Research (social and ecological), conservation, Behavioural change (community engagement & conservation education) - to get to grips with what conservation is all about.

Education and community interns work hands on with underprivileged schools, teaching them about the environment and how to improve their own communities. Help our award winning team raise up a generation of eco-warriors, solving community sustainability at the grass-roots level.

Research volunteers get to grips with studying some of the most pristine systems on earth, examining natural variation in ecological systems and assessing hands on how climate change is affecting these. Spend time in the field studying Fynbos (one of six global plant Kingdoms), marine ecosystems, endemic river biota, pristine estuaries, and magnificent forests! Get that field research experience you always wanted, while adding value to real time conservation research!

We limit ourselves to 4-5 interns at a time, ensuring a personalized hands-on experience for every participant. Our programme suits undergraduate or recently graduated biologists who wish to gain meaningful career related work experience abroad.
