Adult volunteers age 50 and older are needed for OASIS’ CATCH Healthy Habits program in 2017 to help combat childhood obesity!

It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

One --> share a healthy snack

Two --> teach a health lesson

Three --> lead active games

1) Work directly with children!

For just one hour per week for 8 weeks, join a team of volunteers to teach children about healthy food choices, share healthy snacks, and play active games. Training, lesson plans and equipment provided. No experience necessary.

The training for the Fall 2016 session will be held in October.

Not able to join us in the Fall? No Problem! Opportunities are available year long, too!

2) Work behind the scenes!

There are opportunities to help behind the scenes, too! Take photos, write stories, plan parties, and more!

Mission Statement

OASIS is a national nonprofit educational organization designed to enhance the quality of life for mature adults. Offering challenging programs in the arts, humanities, wellness, technology and volunteer service, OASIS creates opportunities for older adults to continue their personal growth and provide meaningful service to the community.

Description

We strengthen communities by providing lifelong learning and service opportunities that inspire diverse audiences of mature adults to pursue vibrant, healthy, productive and meaningful lives. OASIS was founded in 1982 by Marylen Mann and Margie Wolcott May as a resource for mature adults who wanted to continue to be active, productive members of the community.

Today OASIS has grown into the largest, most comprehensive educational and volunteer service program for mature adults in the U.S. It serves more than 350,000 adults in 26 cities.

Three times per year, St. Louis OASIS publishes a course catalog detailing our local educational programs in the areas of art, humanities, technology, health, travel, science, contemporary issues and more. With more than 200 classes offered each trimester, there is a class of interest to everyone. Our 2,000+ volunteers serve the St. Louis community in a variety of ways. Providing adults age 50+ with opportunities to learn and give back are two primary goals of St. Louis OASIS.
