Make a difference in someone's life today!! Help someone who is at the end of their life by providing a haircut in their residence. We work with your schedule, whatever is convenient for you and our patient. Our Volunteer Stylist/Barbers love what they do and we need a few more willing Volunteers. If you have a current license and would be willing to offer free haircuts with simple styling to the patients we serve (no curlers/curling irons, no chemical processes will be used) we would love to hear from you!

If you are not familiar with hospice, we provide care for Snohomish County residents who are facing a life-limiting illness. Patients are cared for in a variety of settings: private residence, Adult Family Home, Skilled Nursing Facility, etc.

Hospice care addresses the patient’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Many of our patients are no longer mobile/ambulatory. In addressing a patient’s emotional and social needs, we try to offer a haircut to help them maintain self-esteem and their dignity.

Our next training orientation will be August 1st & 3rd from 12:30pm - 4:00pm. Contact us to find out more!

About Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County

Location:

1615 75th St SW, Everett, WA 98203, US

Mission Statement

As expressions of God’s healing love, witnessed through the ministry of Jesus, we are steadfast in serving all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

Description

Volunteers with Providence Hospice and HomeCare of Snohomish County help provide emotional and practical support to those who are facing a terminal illness. We serve patients and families throughout Snohomish county, wherever they may call home (private residence, nursing facility, adult family home, etc.) Volunteers can serve in their own community. Volunteers may help by providing companionship for patients, respite for caregivers, transportation to appointments, assistance with errands such as grocery shopping, and much more. Complementary Therapists also provide massage therapy, music therapy, animal-assisted interactions, meditation, and other modalities to provide comfort to patients. Volunteers also provide support to our bereaved family members through one-on-one listening support, co-facilitating a children, teens or adult grief group, or as a volunteer at Camp Erin (an overnight, weekend camp for children and teens who have lost a loved one). In addition, volunteers help support our mission through administrative work in our offices.
