Do you like working with the elderly? A nonprofit hospice center in Ann Arbor needs help with working with their hospice residents by providing companionship and helping with daily activities. Reading or visiting with them, playing the piano in the dining area, helping with a party or event, doing a puzzle or playing a board game are some possibilities that await!
Also, companions are needed at patients homes in Washtenaw and surrounding counties. Companion duties would be to provide respite care for a family member for a couple of hours once a week.
There is a 20 hour mandatory training session for these volunteer positions, that is offered 3 times per year. The training is offered during daytime and evening hours. A one year commitment is requested.
