Communities in Schools ACE program at Velasco Elementary has a need for volunteers to help with fun science experiments. Come show students how cool and fun science can be! Opportunities are available between the hours of 3:45 - 4:45 Monday - Thursday. If you are interested please contact Melissa Soto. 979-237-6318.

The philosophy of CIS is based on the idea of keeping students in school by directly addressing all of the problems and concerns that cause the child not to do well in school or consider dropping out. CIS’s comprehensive programs provides students with the opportunity to overcome obstacles thus making it easier for them to stay in school, successfully learn, and prepare for life.
