Imagine your child has autism, or your 20 year old child is significantly disabled and needs care and supervision at all times. Or imagine your sibling has a disability that makes it exceptionally challenging for him/her to find a way to feel useful and valued. Now imagine there is nowhere to turn for support, nowhere to turn to get one simple break from your 24 hour a day parenting duties or no avenue to help your sibling discover their talents and find employment or volunteer jobs.
Easter Seals Washington provides exceptional services to ensure that people with disabilities & families in need have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play. But in order to provide the best possible services we need involved caring individuals to help our mission by volunteering as a member of our board. For a small commitment of time you can be that person who wakes up knowing they are making a real difference in the lives of people in need who are sometimes left behind or overlooked.
Our organization is State-wide and encourages representation from all areas of the state. We have a governing Board that meets 5 times a year. A member must serve on at least one committee, which meets monthly often via phone or sometimes at a location. Board members have philanthropic responsibilities within their means and commit to be advocates of our mission within their communities and social circles.
