Position Description: Academic Tutor
Will assist students during the Afterschool Tutoring and College Cornier in one or more of the following ways: RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitate individual to small group tutoring to assist students with Homework in areas of ELA, Math, and Social Science Maintain and track attendance including enrollment, outreach, and follow-up
- Prepare lessons and small group activities
- Track youth progress and identify areas of improvement
- Report to Youth Services Coordinator
- Motivate and mentor youth in their school, home and community issues
- Develop and sustain excellent relationships with youth, parents, administrators and school staff
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled in college or college graduate
- Experience working in afterschool programs
- Possess prior Tutoring experience with youth 13-17 y/o
- Experience working with youth and young adults preferred
- Must be comfortable working in a team environment
- Bilingual and/or bicultural, but not necessary
- Experience in A-G subjects for College prep
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and TB Test
- Subject to Background Check
