Support young adults who are currently homeless: Volunteer at the YEAH! Shelter
42 people are interested
Come volunteer with YEAH! (Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing), Berkeley's only shelter for transitional age youth (18-25). We assist young people who are currently homeless by providing basic relief from the stress of living on the street. We are also dedicated to co-creating a community of mutual support and respect.
Help and volunteer by cooking meals, serving food, assisting staff and getting to know youth 18-25, who are currently homeless. YEAH! seeks to build a community that transforms and changes lives--not only the lives of the youth staying here, but also the lives of the volunteers and staff. Our shelter is open from November 25 th until Mid-May. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a consistent shift throughout these 6 months. Shifts are weekly and monthly depending on the position.
We require every volunteer to attend an orientation before they begin volunteering at YEAH! with the youth. Orientations are held in November on the 5th at 6:00, the 11th at 6:00, the 13th at 6:00, the 19th at 7:00, and the 23rd at 1:00. All orientations are held at the YEAH! site.
We'll work with your schedule.
