We transform lives.

We are the only nonprofit in the country that does what we do.

We're a small organization so your role will truly add value.

Seeking board members (women) for women's peer counseling organization:

  • Time commitment: Approx 1 hr per week. We meet every other month; we run our meetings on time; we meet all deadlines and commitments; the majority of the work is via email or phone.
  • Skills: Fundraising; cultivating donors; building our outreach; networking. We need brave, independent, DRIVEN board members who are unafraid to make direct solicitations to donors; who are able to leverage their personal and professional networks on behalf of the organization to identify potential donors; who bring connections and prospective donors to our mailing list. If you have experience doing these tasks in a nonprofit setting, that's ideal.
  • Emotional value: Tremendous. Consider us a unique start-up -- we are the only nonprofit in the entire country that does what we do, so your input will help shape something incredible. A nonprofit that takes Silicon Valley culture as its role model? You bet.
Our website is www.infidelitycounselingnetwork.org. You do not have to have experienced infidelity to volunteer as a board member but you should be passionately committed to our mission.

Description

At Infidelity Counseling Network, we transform lives.

We help women heal from the pain of infidelity through confidential, one-to-one, telephone peer counseling. Our trained volunteer peer counselors are women who have themselves survived infidelity, and they support each client in her personal recovery from this trauma whether her relationship ends or mends.

Our client testimonials prove our success. Through our peer counseling services, each and every one of our clients becomes:
...Strengthened to cope with the emotional roller coaster of betrayal
...Empowered to manage the ending or mending of her marriage/relationship
...Transformed into a powerful role model for her family and friends

Our trained volunteer peer counselors support their clients unconditionally and non-judgmentally in their individual journeys of personal recovery regardless of whether their relationship ends or mends.

We are an organization comprised of women - from volunteers to Board members to staff. We are based in the Palo Alto, CA area, but our callers and volunteer peer counselors come from across the state and around the country, as well as Canada.
