Book van and Booker T. Bear giving out books

Help get books in kids' hands. The South Sound Reading foundation has free childrens bookshelves all throughout Thurston and Mason county at facilities that serve low income families. When a child visits one of these facilites (say a free clinic for a doctors visit) they get to take a free book home with them. We need volunteers to visit one or two sites a month and restock these shelves. This is a minimal time commitment with a big impact. Become a Literacy Bookshelf volunteer today.

We also are looking for volunteers to assist in delivering books for our Books for the Break program. Each major school break (Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring, and Summer), we make it our mission to get books baskets to low-income children across Thurston and Mason County. We deliver custom-made boxes to all of the schools in the area, and need volunteers to sign up to deliver to any schools that they can.
