Our HIV testing team needs volunteers to help facilitate testing at our Olympia office. The volunteer will not administer tests unless certified to do so in Washington State. The volunteer will assist PCAF staff by helping clients fill out testing paperwork and managing the community space while staff administer tests.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the testing process
- Help clients fill out paperwork accurately
- Answer basic questions about HIV/AIDS and the HIV testing process
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 or older
- Comfortable with topics of sexuality, sexual orientation and sexually transmitted diseases
Commitment: Testing in Olympia occurs on Fridays from 2pm-7pm and we are in need of volunteers who are able to work weekly or every other week.
Training: All PCAF volunteers must pass a criminal history background check and schedule a new volunteer orientation meeting with the Development Coordinator.
Benefits: Volunteers will gain a thorough understanding of HIV and the HIV testing process; experience working directly with community members; and satisfaction from ensuring clients access to free and confidential HIV testing.
