About Grace Hospice-Columbus

Location:

355 E. Campus View Blvd., Suite 270, Columbus, OH 43235, US

Mission Statement

For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.

Description

Grace Hospice cares for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to medical treatment or for those patients who choose to not seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. Hospice care focuses on comfort care rather than curative care. The goal of hospice care is for patients to remain as comfortable and pain free as possible in their home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Care can also be provided in a long term care or assisted living facility.

Hospice care also provides emotional support for the entire family. Hospice care includes a team of doctors, nurses, social worker, home health aide, chaplain and trained volunteers. This team works together focusing on the patient's needs, whether it be physical, psychological or spiritual. Most hospice volunteers are trained to relieve primary caregivers by helping with household chores, providing companionship to the patients or running errands for them. The most important task, however, is their ability to be good listeners. Hospice volunteers also provide administrative assistance to the hospice care team by working in the office.
