Happy Tails Pet Rescue is looking for volunteers who can cover bi-weekly shelter shifts at our cat shelter in Somerville, MA, or potentially in Everett or Chelmsford -- please let us know which locations work for you. Morning shifts can be done between 5am and 3pm. Evening shelter shifts can be done any time after 4:00pm. The time invested is approx. 2 to 2 1/2 hours. It is preferred that you have roots to the area. Unfortunately, we are unable to use students for shelter shifts due to their erratic schedule and school breaks (but other volunteer opportunities may be available for students -- please ask!). We need someone who is a full time resident and lives here with no chance of them packing up and going home for vacations and summer breaks. We are looking for serious inquiries. This is a fairly long-term commitment. This is a commitment that involves a few years opposed to a few months. You will be trained before going solo.

Having a car is helpful. The shelter is on a bus route but as the days get shorter and winter approaches....a car is definitely a plus.
