Friends of the Library is recruiting volunteers to assist with our annual Fall Used Book Sale
from October 4-7, 2019 (with set up on October 3).
We at the Friends are looking for book-loving folks who would be interested in volunteering for one (or more!) shifts during our Fall Used Book Sale at the Lloyd Center DoubleTree Hotel Exhibit Hall (1000 NE Multnomah St, Portland, OR, 97232).
If you love books and support libraries, volunteering at the book sale is a meaningful and enjoyable way to spend a weekend.
Our open volunteer positions appeal to a wide range of personalities and abilities - from the outgoing greeter and line management positions, to the detail-oriented book counters, to the unobtrusive physical work of the Book Depot, table stockers, and the clean-crew at the end of each day.

- Thursday, Oct 3 (Set-up): 9a-11:30a, 11:30-2p
- Friday, Oct 4: 5:30p-9p, 8:45p-10p
- Saturday, Oct 5: 8:30a-12p, 11:30a-3p, 2:30p-6p, 5:30p-9p, 8:45p-10p
- Sunday, Oct 6: 10:30a-2p, 1:30-5p, 4:45p-6p
- Monday, Oct 7: 8:30a-12p, 11:30a-3p, 2:45-6p

Mission Statement
The Friends of the Multnomah County Library advocate for and support our outstanding public library. We are committed to raising the standard of excellence of our library by funding programs and services beyond what is allocated in the operating budget. We also sponsor activities which bring together people who value libraries.
Description
The Friends conduct the biggest book sales in Oregon each Spring and Fall. The Friends also run the Friends Library Store in the lobby of the Central Library. Merchandise includes used books donated by the community as well as greeting cards and literary gifts. We also sell donated books in our Amazon store.
The money raised by FOL supports library programs such as Pageturners, library staff enrichment, and management planning.
