Deliver Safer Sex Packets to Partner Businesses in the Area!

The most cost-effective response to any health crisis is prevention. These volunteers are preferrably 21 or older and will be in charge of condom and safer sex packet distribution to a network of local businesses and organizations within Pierce County. Every Thursday, these volunteers will pick up supplies at PCAF and travel to various the locations to distribute condoms. This volunteer opportunity requires availability Thursdays from 2pm-4pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Pick up materials from PCAF office
  • Distribute materials to network of local businesses and organizations throughout Pierce County

Qualifications:

  • 21 or older
  • Comfortable with topics of sexuality, sexual orientation, and sexually transmitted diseases
  • Must have a valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance

Commitment: Distribution happens every Tuesday from 4pm-6pm. Volunteers are encouraged to commit to at least one month.

Training: All PCAF volunteers must attend New Volunteer Orientation and complete a criminal background check.

Benefits: Volunteers will gain knowledge about HIV/AIDS and safer sex practices; satisfaction from ensuring access to safer sex materials thorughout the community.

PCAF, through education and service, prevents HIV infection, assists persons affected by HIV/AIDS, addresses related health problems, and combats associated stigma and discrimination.

Description

PCAF is a non-profit organization established in 1987 to respond to the needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS. In 2012 PCAF expanded its services by establishing a second office in Olympia, Washington. Today, PCAF serves Pierce, Thurston, and Lewis Counties.

PCAF is dedicated to assisting persons living with HIV/AIDS to meet their needs for food, housing, healthcare and personal support. PCAF provides personalized case management services to people living with HIV/AIDS and extensive outreach/education/prevention programming to help stop the spread of HIV and combat HIV related stigma.
