Project LIVE stands for Living Independently through Volunteer Efforts.

As we age, we lose the ability to do basic repair or maintenance to upkeep a home. Volunteers can support local seniors by filling these needs, helping Knox Seniors remain in their own home as long as possible.

Service opportunities include:
Mowing or weedeating
Trimming hedges
Cleaning gutters
Installing safety equipment (railings, handle bars)
Help declutter or organize
Help with a move, and more!

Volunteers receive emails once or twice a month with projects that need adopted. Volunteers can adopt one and we'll put them in touch with the senior to schedule the project in your free time. We welcome teams, groups, or families to take on larger projects. Volunteers can also adopt just part of a project, and we'll find another volunteer to take on the other aspects.

If you have a specialized trade, let us know! We also get requests for help with plumbing, electric, or carpentry. Small ramp projects are also common, to help seniors keep their home accessible as they transition to walkers, rollators, or wheelchairs.
